How Golden Gate Schools handles the information you share with us through this website.

Golden Gate Schools is a Creche, Playgroup, Nursery, Kindergarten and Primary 1 – 6 school in Ikeja, Lagos, approved by the Lagos State Government under IKJ/14080.
We are the data controller for the information described in this policy. It covers this website only, not anything that happens in person at the school.
Our admission form asks for:
This matters, so we want to be plain about it. When you press Send Application via WhatsApp, two things happen.
First, the details you typed are saved to the school's own admission records, held in a password-protected system that only school staff can open. Second, your device opens WhatsApp with the same details written out, ready for you to send.
Nothing reaches WhatsApp until you press send there. But because your enquiry is already recorded, the school can still respond to you even if the WhatsApp message is never sent or does not arrive.
If you would rather we did not keep a record, tell us and we will delete it — see section 9.
The form asks for a child's name and age so we can place them in the right class. We use it only to answer your enquiry and to process admission.
We do not knowingly collect information directly from children through this website, and we do not use children's information for advertising. The form is intended to be completed by a parent or guardian.
We use the Meta Pixel to measure how our Facebook and Instagram adverts perform. It records when a page is opened and when an admission form is submitted, and it sets cookies such as _fbp in your browser. This information is shared with Meta and may be used to show you our adverts.
You can decline this using the cookie notice on this site, clear the cookies in your browser at any time, or adjust your Meta ad preferences in your Facebook or Instagram account settings.
Our Home and Contact pages embed a Google map so you can find the school. Google may set its own cookies when that map loads. This is Google's processing, governed by Google's own privacy policy.
Our fonts are stored on our own server rather than loaded from Google Fonts, so opening this site does not send a request to Google for typefaces. We do not run Google Analytics, and we do not use advertising networks other than Meta.
Our lawful basis is your consent when you submit the form or accept cookies, and our legitimate interest in running and promoting the school.
We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with other schools or marketing lists.

Admission enquiries submitted through the form are deleted automatically twelve months after they are received. We do not keep them indefinitely.
The same applies to the WhatsApp messages and emails you send us: we keep them for as long as we need to deal with your enquiry and to meet our record-keeping obligations, then remove them. You can ask us to delete yours sooner at any time.

The site is served over an encrypted HTTPS connection. Admission records are stored on the school's own server, reachable only through a password-protected staff login, and the passwords themselves are stored scrambled rather than in readable form.
No system is completely secure, so please avoid sending sensitive documents such as medical records or identification through the website form — bring those to the school instead.
This site links to Facebook and, where relevant, other services. We are not responsible for how those sites handle your information.
If we change how we handle information we will update this page and change the date at the top.
